Kono's Keyboarding and Performance is an Experience!

 

Kono has a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano from the University of California at Santa Barbara, where he worked as Senior Musician for the Dance/Drama Department. His duties included composing and performing music for dance (ballet, modern, and jazz) and musical directing for the Creative Children’s Project and the Goleta Union School District and as the Music Specialist for Arts at various local public and private schools in the Santa Barbara area.


Kono currently continues in his capacity as Music Specialist for Arts; is the pianist/organist & director of worship music at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Santa Barbara, California; is a favorite entertainer and teacher in the Santa Barbara area, is director of Camp Kono, an arts and adventure summer camp for kids; is a recording artist with four CDs in release featuring his piano and jazz compositions. His music can be heard on local radio and television ads. The Ensemble Theater, Montecito School of Ballet, and State Street Ballet have used his original compositions in their productions. Konrad is the Musical Director for Speaking of Stories and Panto Productions at the Lobero Theatre.

 

In addition, he headlines his own musical and theatrical production at the Lobero that features local performing artists and music teachers in the community. Kono’s Thunderdome project can be heard at the UCSB Thunderdome during the Gaucho basketball games and is included in a series of hip hop/house style of music, with jazz, blues, Latin jazz, and popular ballads currently in release.
