Landscapes

Presented by:
The Palette Gallery
Nederland, Colorado
The "Landscapes Exibit" was from a variety pf artists associated with The Palette Gallery of Nederland. Many pieces in the exhibit featured mountain scenes like the painting above by artist
Annie Thayer. Annie sketched this image of Mud Lake, located just north of town, while on a run one morning with her dog Kodi. Later that day she returned to show it in watercolor. Those of us lucky enough to live here know she's perfectly captured the spirit of the aspens in autumn.
Annie’s artwork is inspired by a deep love of the outdoors that goes back to her childhood in Minnesota. Her approach to the changing and often subtle colors and light found in nature shows the influence of both summers spent in Maine and her present home in the Colorado mountains. She has studied painting with several different artists, including local artists
Jim Pedersen and
Teresa Smith.
Our mountain community is home to many talented artists and MCMAA is pleased to be able to present this fine example as part of our
Community Arts Series. More of Annie Thayer's work is available at
The Palette Gallery and at
www.rockyknob.net. Take a look!
